HAMMER TIME

So it's been a little while since our last post, sometimes the holidays have a way of really putting a halt to our creative flow. Instead we used our time to be with our families (whatever shape and size they may be), reminiscing about the last year and looking forward to the next which we hope to fill with our love and of course all of our new ideas!

In celebration we go off campus to celebrate at The Hammer Museum with...

Family Day is an annual event (free!) taking place in early December, this Family Day was  inspired by the recent Graphic Design exhibition.

Family Day encourages all members of the family to participate in creative and sometimes collaborative stations around the museum. Below are some images of the "Tot Spot" an area reserved for the youngest of us (Ages 0-4), where we could experiment and explore with the shapes of letters, lines and dots!

Not only could we participate in the collaborative wall but we could try some of our ideas out all on our own...

(We notice similar patterns on our work and our clothes!)

Below are some images of our last collaborative and interactive project at another one of UCLA's annual events, the Arts Party. Arts Party is a student-exclusive event so its participants are a bit older than we usually are but young or old we collaborate with the same innovative choice making!

This collaborative silhouette-tracing mural was inspired by the Alina Szapocznikow: Sculpture Undone, 1955–1972 exhibition at the Hammer last Spring.
