HOLY MOLY!!: The Tape Project 3 (Stained Glass Style)

Part One.

For our 3rd installment of The Tape Project (see The Tape Project and The Tape Project 2) we warmed up by making a mess!!! Of course...

Introducing our Strum n' Splatter Boards as well as...

The Staples Singers, our favorite tunes of the month

Our Strum n' Splatter boards are made by lining a heavy piece of would with nails, about a quarter of an inch deep, on two sides. Then we place down a paper, dip rubber bands in paint, stretch em across...... STRUM AND SPLATTER!!

This was pretty exciting for us and we made many wonderful masterpieces with our Strum n' Splatter Boards. It was really interesting and surprising to see what we could do with the abstract, black, splattering lines... and even sometimes our hands! :)

Part Two.

For this installment of The Tape Project we imitated our Strum n' Splatter Boards. We stretched lengths of black tape across our canvas, then scattered some smaller pieces amongst them...

Part Three.

Now, beginning at the middle and then reaching out, we began to take shifts in filling in what was left of our canvas. Colors were chosen arbitrarily and placed as we saw fit. We were instructed to do as we pleased as long as we respected the marks before us, even letting them inform our own independent decisions.

...............................................................................................................................................

Finally, we hang our Masterpiece so that the light can shine through...ENJOY!

(This piece, as well as The Tape Project 2 (Rainbow Tape Project) is currently up for auction at the 3rd Annual CWC Gala, happy bidding!)
